What's Going On

April 21, 2006

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE…

Trinity Charities, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Hope Wulliman as Program Manager.  TCI is a not-for-profit HIV/AIDS Service organization.  This organization came into operation only three years ago and focuses on educational, prevention, and support services related to HIV/AIDS for the population in Sarasota and Manatee Counties, and the surrounding underserved area.  TCI’s interest is only on services not available or inadequately provided to all who are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.

Hope comes to Trinity with many years in management and administrative experience in related social service agencies.  Her energies at Trinity will be devoted to the management of new initiatives.  In keeping with the educational commitment of the organization she will be developing wellness seminars and one major HIV/AIDS update this year.  Ms. Wulliman will be responsible for fundraising, outreach and marketing for Trinity.  Already we have on our calendar an AIDS Walk that is scheduled for Saturday, October 14, 2006.  The walk will take place at USF/New College.  Partners in this walk are Temple Sinai, USF/New College, Manatee Health Department, Michael Bach Center, C.A.N., and Project Smile.  More community involvement is still being sought.

A major project that Hope will coordinate is Trinity’s involvement with SMART Ride. We are coming into the third year for Trinity to be involved with the SMART Ride.  The SMART Ride is a 165-mile fully supported annual bike ride from Miami to Key West to raise money for HIV/AIDS Service Organizations.  This past year the ride raised over $360,000.  100% of all funds raised by the riders and crew goes to the agencies.  The expenses of the ride come from corporate and individual sponsors.  Trinity received over $58,000 from the ride in early 2006.  This year’s ride is scheduled to take place during World AIDS Day December 1 and 2.  Anyone interested in riding or being a member of the crew should go to www.thesmartride.org for more information or visit the Trinity website at www.trinitycharities.org.
